Anti-Ragging Policy

As per the AICTE/UGC regulations and Supreme Court directives, ragging is strictly prohibited and includes any behavior that affects the
mental or physical well-being of students.

What Constitutes Ragging?

  • Teasing or handling with rudeness a fresher or student.
  • Rowdy or undisciplined activities causing fear or harm.
  • Acts that induce shame or embarrassment.
  • Disruption of academic activities.
  • Financial extortion or physical abuse.
  • Use of obscene acts or abusive language online/offline.
  • Any act that lowers self-confidence or mental health.

Punishments

  • Suspension from classes.
  • Withdrawal of scholarships.
  • Debarment from exams or results.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Expulsion or rustication (1-4 semesters).
  • Fine between ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000.
  • Collective punishment when culprits are unidentified.

  • Institutions bear the primary responsibility.
  • Early detection of behavioral patterns in students.
  • Involvement of government, media, and society is essential.
  • Zero-tolerance policy in all campuses.
